Hi! My name is Sophia and welcome to my website! This site was originally made for my web design class. Before I made this website I posted on Instagram all my cooking adventures (I still do, and you should give me a follow @cooking.with.sophia). Growing up, my family loved to cook and that love was thankfully passed down to me. During the Covid-19 pandemic is when I really started to experiment with my cooking and try new recipes. I was about to start college and I knew I was going to need to cook for myself not too soon after that. Plus I had a ton of extra time. Three years ago I moved into my first apartment and that’s when my cooking journey took off!

I grew up in Southern California and grew up eating a lot of delicious Italian food at home, thanks to my Italian father. When we would eat out we would eat lots of Japanese and Mexican food, thanks to the vibrant food scene in Southern California. Now I live in Salt Lake City, Utah, and while in college I have unfortunately not eaten out a ton (I need to save some money) but I have found some wonderful restaurants throughout Utah that I want to share.

My love for cooking started with baking. I have a major sweet tooth and I wanted to bake all of the time. Eventually, that transitioned to cooking. I love to cook all types of foods but I love cooking Italian and different Asian cuisines the most, which I think is reflected in my recipes on my website. My goal with this site is to share recipes that I love that are easy for all levels of cooks, affordable, and of course delicious.
